The Board and Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC have assured their supporters that the club will return to the level befitting its rich history and stature, emphasising the restoration of the lost glory of the Porcupine Warriors.

The Kumasi-based club failed to secure a top-four finish in the recently ended 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL), finishing 8th with 49 points.

Their disappointing season culminated in a 2-1 home defeat to Swedru All Blacks at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Supporters have expressed their disappointment and called for a total overhaul of the team ahead of next season.

In a statement issued on Monday, May 25, 2026, the management admitted that the performance of the club has fallen far below the standards, expectations, and ambitions of the great Porcupine family.

“While football always offers another opportunity to rise again, we acknowledge that this season’s performance is one to forget. As a result, decisive measures will be taken to ensure the club returns to the level befitting its rich history and stature.

“The Board assures all supporters that every effort will be made to restore Asante Kotoko to the summit of Ghanaian and African football once again,” parts of the statement read.

The statement also extended their deepest gratitude to the loyal supporters who traveled across the country and stood firmly behind the team throughout the campaign.

“Your unwavering commitment and passion remain the backbone of this club. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and frustration caused by our performance this season.”
