Carlos Queiroz’s Black Stars are expected to play one more friendly match before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reports suggest.
According to reports, Honduras could be the opponent for the Ghanaian team, barring any last-minute changes.
Meshach Nkrumah of Angel Sports Desk reported that the match will take place on Tuesday, June 9, behind closed doors at the American University Stadium in Washington, D.C.
“Friendly Match Confirmed! The Ghana Black Stars are set to face Honduras in a closed-door international friendly on June 9, 2026.
“The match will take place at the American University Stadium in Washington, D.C., as both teams continue preparations ahead of upcoming competitions,” the journalist posted on Facebook Saturday, June 6.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is expected to make an official announcement in the coming days.
Ghana has played Japan, South Korea, Austria, Germany, Mexico, and Wales in a series of high-profile preparatory matches after qualifying for their fifth World Cup.
However, they have suffered defeats in the listed matches, except for Wales, in which they recorded a draw.
