The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) has announced the immediate suspension of the Capacity Building Programme agreement with Zeus Atlas Limited.
The decision, which was made on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, halts the monthly deduction of GH¢60 from national service personnel allowances related to the agreement.
This follows widespread concerns and public backlash over the deductions.
Addressing a presser at the National Service Authority headquarters in Accra, NASPA President Abdul Wahab Bala Mohammed disclosed that the decision followed a directive from the Minister for Youth, Employment and Development, George Opare Addo.
“Due to concerns regarding the deductions and the level of consultations, we took our time to engage our newly elected executives and received feedback from service personnel, as well as carefully reviewed the issues raised.
“In response to the feedback, the capacity-building programme is hereby suspended pending a comprehensive review of the programme for decisive action to be taken. This is in line with our Minister of Youth, Employment and Development, George Opare Addo’s directive.”
According to him, the association welcomes the directive “wholeheartedly.”
Mr. Wahab also pledged to the general public and the wider service personnel, indicating that there would not be any further deductions.
