The Executive Director of the Public Health Alliance International Ghana (PHAIG), Samuel Nuamah, has reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to ensuring vulnerable and destitute Ghanaians can independently access essential healthcare services before medical conditions become critical.
Speaking with the media at the H4DS launch of the Youth Empowerment Entrepreneurship Programme, Nuamah highlighted the NGO’s multi-year effort to deliver medical assistance directly to those living on the streets.
“It is our primary aim that the average vulnerable Ghanaian has the means and support to access public health facilities on their own,” Nuamah said.
He added: “We want to help eradicate poverty-driven health barriers so people do not wait until their illnesses reach a life-threatening stage before seeking hospital care.”
For five years, the non-profit organisation has partnered with several local and international bodies to reach underserved communities.
Nuamah noted that early intervention and collaborative outreach remain the most effective tools for preventing manageable health issues from becoming fatal.
