The presidency has urged the public to disregard a circulating infographic purporting to show Prophet Roja praying for President John Dramani Mahama and assuring him of a third term in 2028.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, July 25, 2026, Presidential Spokesperson and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, described the image as AI-edited and false.
“Disregard this AI image. Nothing of the sort has ever happened,” Mr. Kwakye Ofosu stated.
The manipulated graphic, dated 24 July 2026, shows Prophet Roja with his hand on the President’s head. It is captioned: “There’s no going to be elections in 2028, President Mahama would go for 3rd term,” – Prophet Roja hints.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu’s caution comes amid discussions about a proposal by the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, for a third presidential term. However, Parliament has not approved the proposal.
Authorities continue to urge citizens to verify information before sharing, especially content involving political leaders and religious figures.
