Deputy National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Godwin Ako Gunn has called on party faithful and government appointees to prioritize the welfare of Ghanaians struggling the most.
In a statement titled “I am, because you are. A heart of gratitude and reflection” released on Sunday, July 26, Mr. Gunn said the message was borne out of gratitude for how far the NDC has come “from opposition to power.”
“As we move forward, let us be intentional about improving the lives of those who are struggling. Let us ensure that no one is left behind,” he urged.
Mr. Gunn used the opportunity to thank Almighty God who lifted him from obscurity and set his feet on higher ground.
“He held my hand, guided my steps, kept me from falling, and directed my thoughts so that I would remain on the right path.
“He covered my shortcomings, transformed my weaknesses into strengths, and enabled me to serve with humility, passion, and conviction,” he wrote.
“I have served with respect, love, and discipline. I have served with pride, honour, and dignity,” he added.
The NDC communicator also expressed appreciation to the National Democratic Congress for the opportunities entrusted to him, and to his boss, Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., whose leadership he said “continues to inspire and uplift those around him.”
He further acknowledged colleagues at the National Executive Committee (NEC) and Federal Executive Committee (FEC), as well as friends, comrades, and supporters for their “unwavering love and encouragement.”
Quoting scripture and using the phrase “Kun Fa Yakun”: meaning “Be, and it is”; Mr. Gunn said God’s promises remain sure.
“In the days ahead, I will reach out once again as we continue the work that God has begun through us. Let us keep hope alive, for better days are indeed ahead,” he added.
