Member of Parliament (MP) for Shai-Osudoku in the Greater Accra Region, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo has urged all Muslims and indeed Ghanaians to deepen their spiritual belief and continue to activate the actions that demonstrate the true benefit of their faith in prayers before Allah to intervene for mankind for life to return to normal as the country and the world at large is in trying times.
The MP extended her best wishes to all Muslims brothers and sisters in the constituency and beyond who went through the fast successfully by dedicating, praying and performing act of Charity.
“On behalf of NDC and the good people of Shai-Osudoku, I would like to extend my best wishes to all Muslims communities in Shai-Osudoku and Ghana at large, that are celebrating the end of a month of fasting and beginning of Eid-ul-Fitr” the MP said.
She also commended the role of Islamic faith and the nicest sense of unity ensuring that Ghana enjoys happiness shared amongst Muslims from the journey of fast that climax a colourful moment of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration festivity.
“Whenever I go down to celebrate with so many friends and families at the end of Ramadan, I always park many blocks away. The journey towards the gathering is a beautiful part for me every time we get to Eid-al-Fitr”
“One of the nicest things about the celebration is the sense of unity and happiness shared amongst Muslims from various cultural backgrounds, colourful displays of new garment are paraded and the exuberant of Eid-ul-Fitr like the other celebrations we mark from around the world throughout the year” she emphatically stated.
The law maker however admonished all Muslims and Ghanaians to heed to the advice of health experts in the fight against the global pandemic noting that we are not in normal times as the colourful moment of yesterday can’t be felt as Covid 19 has taken the shine of the world.
“I urge you all to keep to the advice of health experts. Unfortunately, those colourful scenes of yesterday cannot be seen today. We now live with the new–normal, coronavirus also known as COVID 19” Hon. Linda Ocloo advised.
To climax the Eid-ul-Fitr Celebration in a colourful way ‘the caring and affable’ MP supported Muslim communities in her constituency.
The items donated are; Bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, boxes of hand sanitizers, plastic water bottles, bags of sachet water and several pieces of nose masks among others.
After the presentation, elders of the various Zongo Communities who received the items in the constituency expressed their gratitude to the MP for her kind gesture and promised to make the items available to the right people.
