Two suspected thieves have been nabbed at Wli in the Volta Region for attempting to smuggle Cocoa beans into the Republic of Togo.
The suspects, Isaac Mensah a 29-year-old, and Somevi William 30-year-old were arrested on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
The arrest was made possible under the security agencies’ “Operation Enhance Calm Life” which comprises of joint officers from the Ghana Police, Immigration and Military.
Suspects are currently in police custody assisting investigation before they are arraigned to court.
Meanwhile, some suspects managed to escape through the bushes in the process of the operation but the police says investigations are ongoing to arrest the runaways.
