The dream of Ghanaian athletes, Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Paul Amoah to qualify for the semifinal of the 100-metre race at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon has failed to materialize.
It comes as a result of their inability to make the list of athletes to book their tickets to the semi-finals stage.
The 100m race took place in the early hours of Saturday, July 16, 2022, in the ongoing championship.
Azamati finished fourth in heat 6, where he run alongside Olympic champion, Andre de Grasse as well as Christian Coleman.
He finished the heat with 10.18s but still failed to book a place in the semifinal.
Coleman and De Grasse finished as the top two from heat 6.
Also, his compatriot Joseph Amoah failed to make the semifinal list after running 10.22s.
He finished sixth in his heat 7, running alongside Ferdinand Omanyala, who earned the third spot.
This means Ghana’s participation in the 100m is over.
