Former Gender Minister, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, has accused President Akufo-Addo of being a selfish leader who does not think about the welfare of Ghanaians.
According to Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, President Akufo-Addo must follow and learn the selfless footsteps of the late John Evans Atta Mills in his leadership and governance role instead of making his family and friends a priority ahead of Ghana.
She made the statement in an interview with Metro TV news as he announced the 10th anniversary celebration of the death of ex-president Atta Mills. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo admonished President Akufo-Addo to imitate the good leadership qualities of Atta especially in these hard times.
“It is all about the comfort of his family, the comfort of himself regrettably and what President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo can learn from President John Evans Atta Mills is to place Ghana first.”
“Place the welfare and interest of Ghanaians first. Look up to optimizing and utilizing efficiently the resources of Ghana for the people of Ghana, to improve the lives and standards of the people of Ghana,” Nana Oye advised.
The former Gender Minister and Activist revealed that the younger brother of the late Atta Mills would read a statement for the commemoration in Parliament during the preparations.
Moreover, “at 1pm, the NDC will hold a wreath-laying ceremony at Asomdwee Park. At 1:40 pm, the time when he died, sirens would be blown by the state in honour of his ceremony.
“The high point will be Tuesday 26th July, 2022 where we will have a lecture, the keynote speaker is Tsatu Tsikata,” she added.
