The new host of Angel FM/TV’s Morning Show, Katakyie Afrifa Mensah has served notice that he is ready to do the bidding of the ordinary Ghanaian as he takes over the mantle of hosting the flagship programme.
Katakyie took over the mantle of leadership from Kwamina Sam Biney who has been the lead host of the most-watched Morning Show in Ghana on Friday.
The man who is admired by many for his ‘fearless’ journalism and his ability to keep politicians on their toes muted that he will move heaven and earth to ensure that the show does not only maintain its number one status but also become the centre of accountability for politicians.
“Everyone knows that NPP is my political party but what I want to assure Ghanaians is that we are here to do the bidding of Ghanaians not NPP or NDC…we are here to serve Ghana…,” he said in his welcome message to listeners and viewers of the show.
Alluding to his previous shows on Happy FM, Radio XYZ and Power FM and his ability to woo new viewers/listeners for a station, Katakyie said “he would learn from his past mistakes and make things better.”
“There is something new coming, I can assure you all…there will be Katakyie known on social media for the records and Katakyie for Angel TV, however, I can say something new is coming and viewers/listeners must all watch out…,” he added.
Radio and TV, he added, should be for the people and hence mentioned his desire to ensure that “we give it much more to the masses than the abstract but the upper class will surely have their share in the show.
“It’s my fervent prayer that God helps me to take the station to a new height than I came to meet it…we are also serving a signal to competitors that Angel TV/FM will surely takeover…,” he said further.
Katakyie will commence the hosting of the Morning Show on Monday, 11th July, 2023.
