‘I am still waiting for Gizzelle Yadji’s twins’ – Kufour

Former President John Agyekum Kufour has said that, he is still awaiting the arrival of the supposed twins he had with Gizzelle Yadji, the lady who was at the centre of the ‘Hotel Kufour’ saga.

The former President was accused of fathering a set of twins with the said lady; his political opponents threatened to bring the twins into the country when he was President.

The said lady who became the centre of attention in Ghana’s politics around 2005 claimed that DNA tests conducted on the supposed twins proved that the gentle giant was the father of the children.

Notable Journalists and some politicians also announced in the heat of the scandal that ‘Yaa Adjei’ as Gizzelle Yadji was referred to then, wanted to come to Ghana to expose the former President.

However, the said lady never arrived on the shores of the country to reveal the actual fathers of the twins and the very person who owned the controversial ‘Hotel Kufour’, which formally known as African Regent Hotel.

Fifteen years down the lane, President Kufour has commented on the scandal demanding that his accusers come forth with the twins.

He threw this challenge in an interview with Captain Smart on Angel 102.9 FM’s Morning Show, ‘Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ‘, on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

“It is never true I had twins with anyone, if indeed it is true as people wanted us to believe then and went to the airport to meet her but she never showed up, where are the children…” he asked.

The former President described the accusations are “pure propaganda” which he said was aimed at bringing his government down.

“It was pure propaganda and as the nation moves on, we should avoid those kinds of propaganda because they are inimical to our nation,” he said.
