The Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is set to hit the streets on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 to register their displeasure on brutalities of the security personnel on Ghanaians.

After the murder of Kaaka Anyaas and two others at Ejura in the Ashanti region by the military barely a week ago, a video went viral of the cruelty of some military personnel in Wa, in the Upper West region.

In the said video, the military officers were seen beating whoever they chanced upon in the community, be it at home, on the streets or workplace.

Condemning the act, TEIN issued a communique dated July 5, 2021, which read in part: “The Military and the Police have now been turned into ‘citizen-intimidation-machinery’ for the President. They have now lost their core focus in ensuring that Peace and Order is maintained in our communities.

“They have failed in providing security, and regrettably, they are now being used by the President to kill and maim the very Ghanaian whose vote has made him fulfill his childhood dream of becoming President.”

They are in effect calling on all TEIN members to join the youth wing of the NDC party on Tuesday July 6, 2021 to drum home their displeasure.

The march which is expected to begin from the forecourt of the Accra Mall at 6:00 am, led by the party’s Youth Organizer, George Opare Addo.

“By this directive, all our members are to converge at the forecourt of the Accra Mall at 6:00 am on Tuesday July 6, 2021 to march through the sanctioned routes by the Youth Wing to present a petition to the President and to the Speaker,” the statement added.
