ABN partners Ghanaweb to cross-promote content

Media conglomerate, Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) has entered into partnership with Ghanaweb, to promote each other’s contents.

The collaboration between the two media firms is aimed at generating more interesting, relevant and far-reaching contents for the mass market.

Speaking at a brief meeting, the Editor-in-chief of Africaweb, Nii Akwei Ismail Akwei, said the partnership forms part of efforts by the two media giants to improve upon service delivery to content consumers across the globe.

“The partnership is to help each other grow and to be big in the technological and digital space, and we will do it together and make the country a better place and well informed” he said.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ABN, Samuel Kofi Acheampong, appreciating the partnership engagement, stressed the need for content production that will meet the needs of media consumers and also benefit both companies financially.

“We appreciate we coming together to form a good team and make sure we do something very feasible and make sure we put good information out there.”

“There is one thing doing what you think is best and there’s another thing being recognized. Recognition is very key to us and I don’t take it for granted. We know what GhanaWeb stands for, with regards to content, proactiveness, releasing news out there, making sure it’s accurate and is on point always.

“So, for a huge platform like GhanaWeb to call us for a partnership – editorial partnership, we deem it a great honour and we appreciate it,” he said.

This partnership will see GhanaWeb share content produced by the ABN, as well as see both organizations working together to promote mutual interests within the media space in Ghana.

Present at the meeting were Ekow Blankson, Commercial Manager at Ghanaweb; Nii Nii Akwei Ismail Akwei, Editor-in-Chief of Africa Web; Henry Owusu, Technical Director; Daniel Oduro, Managing Editor and Edward Smith, the Editorial Cordinator.

ABN was also represented by Stacy Amoateng, Executive Director and CEO.

GhanaWeb is currently Ghana’s leading local content producer with over 80 million paid views. It has branches spread across the African region, including Cameroon, Nigeria, Tanzania and Burundi.

ABN on the other hand, is Ghana-based company with 19 radio stations spread across the 16 regions, with two digital television stations including Angel TV and One HD TV and an online platform.
