The Kaneshie District Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Madina Member of Parliament (MP), Francis Xavier Sosu.
The warrant was issued on Monday after the MP failed to appear in court for a third time.
The Legislator is standing trial for leading his constituents in a demonstration against bad roads in the constituency.
It has been the contention of the Police that the demonstrators blocked roads and engaged in other illegalities during the demonstration.
Attempts to arrest the MP in church to stand trial for the action was thwarted when Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak stormed the church to whisk him away.
Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, in a letter to the court has said that Sosu was out of the jurisdiction for Parliamentary duties.
But the Prosecutor in the case told the court that the MP was back in the country and has since been seen in Parliament but still not attended the court sitting.
His Lawyer, Kojoga Adawudu defended that he has been busy with Parliamentary works since his return; a plea which was not taken leading the court to issue warrant for his arrest.
