Former Deputy Minister of Information, under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has rubbished the private members’ motion filed by some NPP MPs, to demand a bi-partisan probe into the death of late President Atta Mills.
According to him, the move by the four Majority Caucus in Parliament is “utter nonsense.”
His comments are in relation to a private members’ motion filed by some four Members of Parliament of the NPP, seeking to demand a bi-partisan probe into the death of President John Evans Atta-Mills in July 2012.
The group led by the Majority Chief Whip Frank Annoh Dompreh includes MP for Tolon, Habib Iddrisu; Mpraeso MP, Davis Opoku Ansah and Tema Central MP, Yves Hanson Nortey.
Davis Opoku Ansah and Hanson-Nortey have, however, denied knowledge of the said motion.
But, Mr. Kwakye in a Facebook post stated that “The NPP MPs’ motion for an inquest into the death of President Mills is complete and utter nonsense.”
“It is a senseless attempt at wasting precious time while diverting attention from the most important issues of the economy and the livelihoods of Ghanaians,” he stated.
