The Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as ‘Abronye DC’ has indicated his readiness to replace the Member of Parliament (MP) in Dome-Kwabenya, Sara Adwoa Safo in Parliament.

The Law Maker has been absent from the Parliament for some months now causing some leading members of the party and Parliament to blame her for the majority’s inability to pass the ‘e-levy’ bill currently before the house.

Her absence is not helping the NPP to gain the needed numbers to pass the Bill in the Hung Parliament.

Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has called the bluff of his former lover arguing that the leadership of party and government have done all it takes to get Adwoa Safo to come back to Ghana and help the NPP transact business in Parliament.

He revealed in an interview on Asaase FM that the Chief of Staff sent 120,000 as enticement package to her so she can come back and work in the interest of the NPP and the government.

“The Chief of Staff called me and I went, I swear [on] my mother’s grave, Chief of Staff gave me ¢120,000 and deposited into Adwoa Safo’s Fidelity Bank account.

“I took the money there into the Fidelity Account, ask her personal assistant if what I am saying is not the truth,” a furious Kennedy Agyapong said.

Commenting on the absence of Adwoa Safo who is also the Gender Minister from Parliament on Angel FM’s Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ on Thursday, Abronye DC said he is more than qualified to replace her in the august house.

“I am a regional chairman but I stay in Dome-Kwabenya so I am more than qualified to contest and lead the party in that constituency…if she thinks she can no longer lead the constituency, she should gladly resign,” he said.

To him, it is unfair that Adwoa Safo will be blocking people’s opportunities once she knows that she is tired and will no longer want to represent the party.

“I for instance live in Dome-Kwabenya so I can be a prospective candidate…it’s my constituency, if they want a candidate, I am more than qualified and why wouldn’t I want to put myself up if they need a candidate. I have stayed there for sometime now and I am more than qualified to lead the constituency…,” he added.
