Ghanaian sprinter, Benjamin Azamati has won a gold medal in the men’s 100m race at the ongoing Diamond League in Paris.
The 100 metres and 200 metres runner achieved the feat on Saturday, June 18, 2022, with a record time of 10.25 seconds.
The 24-year-old finished the race ahead of Mouhamadou Fall and Jimmy Vicaut, both French nationals.
His fellow Ghanaian sprinter, Sean Safo-Antwi, also finished the race in the sixth position with a record time of 10.45
Azamati’s winning time was slower than his time in his last race in Oslo, where he ran 10.15s to finish fourth.
The former University of Ghana student will also compete in the 200m race, where he will come up against reigning Olympic champion, Andre de Grasse.
