This comes after the MCE and his driver were reported dead in a ghastly accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
“Sad to hear the death of Hon. Alfred Amoah, MCE for Bibiani Anwiaso Bekwai Municipal Asembly and his driver Samuel Gyasi. Both Alfred and Samuel have been dedicated patriots who served with dignity and passion”, Dr. Bawumia wrote on his official Facebook page.
“May the souls of our dear brothers rest in perfect peace”, the Vice President prayed.
According to a police report, the deceased on board a Nissan Patrol 4×4 with registration No. GC 2060- 18 were traveling from Accra towards Bibiani direction.
On reaching a section of the road at Akim Fisher on the Accra-Kumasi Highway, a Man Diesel Articulated truck with the registration No. AS 4229-X from Kumasi direction veered off its lane and crashed head-on with the Nissan Patrol 4×4.
“The MCE and his driver got trapped in the vehicle and both suspected died on the spot. With the help of the National Fire Service from Bunso and Kibi, the bodies of the deceased were removed and sent to Kibi Government Hospital where they were confirmed [dead] by the Medical Officer on duty.”
