Ghana’s Evelyn Badu has been named the best female inter-club player of the year in Africa at the 2022 CAF football awards held in Rabat, Morocco.
The event, which took place on Thursday, July 21, 2022, also saw the Black Princess captain add the female Young best Player of the Year accolades to her awards on the night.
Evelyn Badu beat off competition from Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Andile Dlamini and South Africa center-back Bambanani Mbanie to win the prestigious award.
She also saw off former teammate Doris Boaduwaa and Morocco’s Yasmine Zouhir to emerge as the Young Player of the Year.
She’s got bags of talent! 💫

The former Hasaacas Ladies’ forward won the awards following her sterling displays in the maiden edition of CAF Women’s Champions League where they became runners-up to Mamelodi Sundowns in Egypt.
She also starred in her side’s sensational sweep of domestic titles under the year of review as well as emerging champions of the WAFU Zone B championship.
Badu netted five goals to win the Golden Boot (goal queen/top scorer) and be adjudged the Player of the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt last year.
The stunning performance of the 19-year-old earned her a move to Norwegian top side, Avaldsnes IL where she currently plays as a forward.
Evelyn Badu is currently at the camp of the Black Princesses as they prepare for next month’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup to be hosted in Costa Rica.
