Ghanaian athletes Benjamin Azamati and Sean Safo-Antwi would battle for a place in the men’s 100m finals in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom today.
This was after the duo qualified for the semifinals of the men’s 100m which took place on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in Birmingham.
Benjamin Azamati advanced to the semi-finals after finishing first in his heat at a 10.19 seconds mark.
His fellow countryman Sean Safo-Antwi also qualified for the men’s 100m semi-finals after running 10.33s.
The semifinals are slated for today, Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
The two, Benjamin Azamati and Sean Safo-Antwi would be hoping to win gold for Ghana in the men’s 100m category.
They were part of the 4x100m relay team that finished fifth at the World Athletics Championships in the United States last month, setting a new national record in the process.
