Ghanaian nationals seeking to visit The United Arab Emirates (UAE) would not be allowed entry following a blanket visa ban.
According to reports, one of the reasons given for the ban is that many who arrive on visit visas end up overstaying in the country illegally while working, without legalising their stay.
According to German-based news outlet, DW Africa, 19 other African States have also been affected by the ban.
The ban which takes immediate effect affected countries such as Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Comoros and Uganda.
A non-African state, The Dominican Republic is also the list, and it is unclear why the country’s citizens were banned.
