The Ghana Police Service has said it has restored calm at Enchi in the Western North Region following a violent clash of chieftaincy dispute over the weekend.
The incident according to reports have left four persons dead whiles one sustained degrees of injuries.
The police say calm has been restored amidst a security beef up in the palace, Enchi township and surrounding communities.
Meanwhile, “reinforcement team have been dispatched from the national headquarters in Accra and surrounding Police Regions to support the Western North Regional Police Command.”
“We wish to urge the public, in this case, our revered chieftaincy institution which is the embodiment of our customs, traditions and values, to use peaceful and due judicial process in resolving differences in order to avoid such needless deaths.
“We will surely get the perpetrators of this violent attack arrested to face justice,” the Police has assured.
