Therefore, he encouraged Ghanaians to protect and maintain the peace and security in the country to help make it as an attractive place for investment.
“The existence of peace and security are necessary prerequisites for economic development of the country. Ghana as a country has been blessed over time to remain stable and peaceful,” Akufo-Addo stressed.
“For the last two consecutive years, Ghana has been noted as the second most peaceful country in Africa, behind the Island of Mauritius…I wish to, therefore, call on all of you to join hands in a collective effort to ensure that Ghana continues to be peaceful and safe for us all to achieve the goals of government.”
The President said this in a speech read for him by the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, who represented him at the 25th Anniversary of the coronation of Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, the Paramount Chief of Aflao, and the climax of the Godigbe Festival.
The event was under the theme: “25 Years of Inspirational Leadership and the Restoration of the Rights and Privileges of the Aflawuawo.”
In the speech, Akufo-Addo praised the security agencies for their well-done job by retaining the peace and protection of the country.
To ensure the well-being of Ghanaians, the President promised to provide the necessary logistics to facilitate their work to show his government’s commitment.
In spite of the current challenges, he said the government has been working hard to bring back the country on the road of success.
Meanwhile, Former President John Dramani joined a delegation of chiefs from various regions of Ghana as well as the republics of Togo and Benin for the Godigbe Festival of the chiefs and people of Aflao and the coronation anniversary.
