The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has credited President Akufo-Addo’s Free Senior High School (SHS) program for significantly reducing the financial burden on parents.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Nana Boakye explained that the Free SHS initiative has saved parents an estimated GH₵15,000 in school-related expenses.

“Without Free SHS, parents would have struggled to cover these costs,” he said, adding that the program offers substantial financial relief to families.

“It’s true that times are tough globally, but one of the things Akufo-Addo has done that brings joy to people is making secondary education accessible at no cost.”

“Now, students benefit from free admission, free school fees, free textbooks, and even meals provided three times daily. In the past, parents would have been charged GH₵15 per meal for their children,” Nana Boakye said.

He further detailed the broad scope of the Free SHS program, covers tuition and other essential provisions, such as electricity, physical education kits.

“This comprehensive package shows the difference Akufo-Addo’s administration has made, and parents are grateful for this support,” he remarked.

Nana B emphasized that Free SHS benefits everyone, regardless of economic background, allowing both rich and poor families to access secondary education for their children.

“Parents are appreciative of the significant relief Nana Akufo-Addo has provided by lifting this financial burden,” he concluded.
