Renowned American YouTuber and businessman, James Stephen Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, has arrived in Ghana with a mission to fight child labor on cocoa farms in West Africa.
In a post on social media handles on Thursday, March, 20, 2025, MrBeast revealed that the initiative is part of his plans to rescue about 1.5 million children trapped in child laboir in the West Africa sub-region.
To tackle this issue, MrBeast has initiated a free breakfast program in Ghanaian schools, aiming to encourage children to attend school instead of working on farms.
“Kids are more likely to go to school if they know they’ll be fed,” he explained.
MrBeast emphasized his commitment to this mission, stating: “I’ve surrounded myself with the greatest minds, and I feel like I know more about child labour in Africa than I do about YouTube now, I hope to make a lot of progress and being all along for the journey, I fear if someone with my influence can’t fix this one can, I’m dedicated to this mission,” he added.
