The Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission, Martin Ayisi, has earned praise for his efforts and support against illegal mining practices in Ghana.
Mr. Ayisi, according to the Concerned Farmers Association of Ghana, has demonstrated visionary leadership and a strong commitment to fighting galamsey over the years.
His journey to the helm of the Minerals Commission began on March 21, 2021, when he was appointed acting CEO, following two and a half years of dedicated service as Deputy CEO.
In a release sighted by this portal, the Concerned Farmers congratulated Mr. Ayisi on what they described as a significant milestone in his tenure at the commission.
“We would also like to express our deepest gratitude for Mr. Ayisi’s tireless efforts to combat illegal mining (galamsey) in Ghana. Under his leadership, the Minerals Commission has supported young Ghanaians who have taken a stand against galamsey, providing them with alternative livelihoods through farming.
We say thank you, Mr. Martin Ayisi, for your unwavering commitment to the development of our nation,” the statement highlights his four years at post.
They emphasized that he has the nation’s development at heart and added that his inclusive leadership, which extends to farmers, is commendable.
“Under his visionary leadership, the Minerals Commission has achieved unprecedented success, implementing programs that have transformed the organization in ways previously unimaginable.
“One of his most notable achievements is the provision of world-class education and training for inspectors and technical officers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.”
The release, dated Saturday, March 22, 2025, and signed by Farmer General Nana Oboadie Boateng Bonsu, expresses confidence in Mr. Ayisi going forward based on his “unwavering dedication to the development of the mineral sector.”
