Residents of Sakumono, Lashibi, Community 2, and Tema Community 5 are facing a severe water crisis due to a poor water supply system in their constituency.

According to the residents, the water crisis has become one of their pressing issues, alongside poor road networks.

They stressed that the government should come to their aid and help solve their concerns.

The Assembly Member for Sakumono, Gabel Lucky Ocansey, also stated that the water crisis situation in their constituency has become a major issue for the people of Sakumono, Lashibi, and Tema Community 5.

He noted that the Branch Women Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edita Wilson, has been supporting the supply of water to the people of the communities for several weeks.

“I thank God and also thank Auntie Edita, because the issue of water crisis has become a worry in my electoral area. Someone introduced her (Madam Edita Wilson) to me, and truly after discussing our issues with her, for the past two weeks she has supplied us water every day. Because of that, I have offloaded the pressure on me.”

“So I thank her very much because she listens to whatever you say, and I pray to God that anything she is looking for, God should give it to her because if not for her, like today in Sakumono, I would no longer stay here because the water pressure was too much. So I thank her and her team, and I heard she’s not doing it only here but in other places,” Mr. Ocansey acknowledged to Augustine Ahiabor of Angel News.

According to him, Madam Wilson, due to her support for the communities, believes that President John Dramani Mahama, would not exempt her from the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) race for Tema West.

Mr. Ocansey believes the potential and competence of Madam Wilson can bring about positive change and development to the constituency.
