President John Dramani Mahama, has given assent to a set of amended bills, including the Betting Tax, E-Levy Tax, and Emissions Tax, among others.
He assented to the bills at an official ceremony held at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

With this, some nuisance taxes, including the Betting Tax, E-Levy Tax, and Emissions Tax, have been removed.

The development aligns with the commitment made by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in its 2024 general election manifesto to abolish these taxes.

The commitment aims to alleviate Ghanaians’ financial burden and promote economic growth.
