Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has asserted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot secure victory in the next elections without unity.

He emphasised that unity is essential for the NPP to succeed in the 2028 general election, stating that nothing will enable the party to prevail without a concerted effort towards togetherness.

According to Mr. Agyapong, fairness and justice are pivotal in fostering peace and unity within the party; however, he cautioned that without these principles, the path to regaining power will be challenging.

“I have said it several times that if NPP will come to power, we must be united, and I repeat, even if you bring Jesus Christ, without unity we cannot win the election.

“I am of the opinion and firm belief that with unity we’ll be able to win in 2028,” he assured.

Mr Agyapong urged party executives to maintain their resolve and refrain from openly endorsing candidates in the forthcoming election.

He advocates for peace and encourages members to avoid threatening one another.

He articulated that the party is grappling with numerous challenges and believes that anything that undermines unity could jeopardise their prospects.

He expressed that members of the NPP should not perceive each other as adversaries, particularly when contesting against fellow party members.
