Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, says ‘Zoomlion’ branded excavators seized from illegal mining sites not belong to them.
In a statement issued Friday, April 25, 2025, the Communications Directorate of Zoomlion Ghana Limited clarified that the company does not support and has never participated in any form of illegal mining operations otherwise known as galamsey.

It emphasized that Zoomlion does not own, lease, operate, or authorize the use of any equipment for mining purposes.
The statement explained further that, the confusion arises from equipment manufactured by Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese company. Despite the similarity in brand names, Zoomlion Ghana Limited insisted that it is completely unaffiliated with the Chinese manufacturer.
“Any use of such equipment in connection with illegal mining is without the knowledge, consent, or approval of Zoomlion Ghana Limited,” the company stated.
Furthermore, it urged the general public, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to disregard any misrepresentation or unauthorized use of its name. The company reaffirmed its commitment to ethical business practices and called for vigilance against misleading associations.
