Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Prof Ransford Gyampo, is threatening to make public, a WhatsApp mesaage he sent to the Special Prosecutor in connection with ongoing corruption investigations on former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
According to the academic-turned-politician, his attempts to reach the SP, Kissi Agyebeng on phone and via text messages, was to caution him “not to cause financial loss to the state” in his continuous pursuit of the former Finance Minister who is said to be receiving medical attention in the USA.

Prof. Gyampo’s widely circulated post on Sunday, June 22, 2025, was in response to a statement the OSP issued Saturday, June 21, cautioning him against attempting to interfere in ongoing corruption and related offenses against Mr Ofori-Atta.
This was after Prof Gyampo had stated that he hoped “the OSP is not being driven by personal vendetta in his quest to get Ken Ofori-Atta.”
He explained: “Given what I have heard from across the political divide about your possible intentions, I only expressed the hope that your intentions are patriotic and not personal.”
Below is the post by Prof Gyampo:
Kissi,
I didn’t call your office, I called YOU and we never spoke on phone because you said you couldn’t speak and that you were going to call back.
I texted you just to caution you not to cause financial loss to the state even as you go about your investigations, which I fully favor.
Given what I have heard from across the political divide about your possible intentions, I only expressed the hope that your intentions are patriotic and not personal. That’s all. It is fine to assure Ghanaians about your intentions but the bit that talks about me calling your office and insinuating that perhaps I called to ask you to do something untoward is unfair and makes me then doubt your intentions the more. I will circulate our whatsup texts also to make the point that I only expressed concern about potential financial loss to Ghana.
Thank you
Ransford Gyampo
