The Ghana Education Service (GES) has described as fake, a widely circulated letter purporting to reschedule the reopening date for Form Two students from July 28, to August 4, 2025.
The document, which bore the GES letterhead and claimed to be signed by an acting director, instructed regional directors of education to inform heads of schools about the supposed change.
However, the GES has categorically denied issuing such a directive and described it as a falsehood.
In a brief post on its official Facebook page, the Service urged the general public, particularly parents, students, and school authorities to disregard the false document and treat its contents as misinformation.
“Fake; kindly ignore,” GES stated, using a red stamp to further affirm its stance against the untrue statement.
The GES reaffirmed that any official announcements regarding school reopening or changes to the academic calendar will be communicated through its verified channels.
