Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Medical, has revealed that he doesn’t write down his rap lyrics instead, he relies on inspiration, mood, and vibe to create his songs.
Speaking in an interview, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, he shared that all his rap and hip pop lyrics are drawn from real life experiences, making the creative process feel natural and unplanned
“I don’t write my rap songs, and whatever is in my rap songs is real. It depends on the mood and the vibe,” he said.
Medikal explained that as a rapper, he finds it easy to freestyle and put thoughts together in a way that makes sense, without necessarily scripting them out.
“I’m a rapper, so it’s easy for me to put things together and make it make sense,” he added.
However, the he noted that commercial songs which are typically created for a broader audience present more of a challenge.
“The difficult songs are the commercial ones. With those, it’s not easy to catch a phrase or chorus sometimes. Commercial songs are meant for everyone to relate to, so hip hop and rap are actually easier for me,” he explained.
