The government has imposed a new curfew in Bawku, Nalerugu, and surrounding areas from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., effective today, Sunday, July 27, 2025, until further notice.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the government emphasized that the curfew is not only part of ongoing efforts to enforce peace in the troubled areas but also aims to provide a safer environment for the evacuation of students currently in educational institutions across the affected regions.
Authorities say some students have unfortunately been targeted in the conflict, prompting the urgent need for their protection and relocation.
Security agencies have been tasked with coordinating safe movement and ensuring compliance with the curfew.
The government is calling on all residents to cooperate fully with the curfew directive and continue to support efforts to restore calm and stability.
