A fire swept through the Accra Tourist Information Centre in the early hours of Monday, August 4, 2025, leaving the facility severely damaged but fortunately without casualties.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the blaze was first reported at exactly 1:02 a.m., prompting a swift response from the National Headquarters.
The initial engine arrived on site within two minutes, followed by five additional appliances dispatched from Flagstaff House, Circle, Accra City, Ministries Fire Stations, and the Rapid Intervention Vehicle unit.
Firefighters battled intensely for over two hours, eventually bringing the flames under control by 3:32 a.m to secure nearby properties, the GNFS stated.
The GNFS confirmed that no injuries were recorded, though the extent of structural damage remains under assessment.
