Minister for Communication and Digitalisation, Samuel Nartey George, has called on Ghanaians to exercise empathy and restraint in sharing videos and images related to the recent military aircraft crash that claimed multiple lives.
In a message on his Facebook page, the minister appealed to the public to be mindful of the emotional toll such content can have on the families of the deceased and the nation at large.
“Dear Fellow Citizens, I plead with you to show some restraint and decorum in these trying moments. Let us have respect for the families of the departed and stop spreading those unwholesome videos,” he urged.
He continued, “I beg you all to show some empathy and humanity. These are very difficult moments for us all.”
Mr. Nartey George’s plea comes amid concerns over the circulation of graphic footage from the crash scene on social media.
