The Presidency has announced the appointment of Cassiel Ato Forson and Emmanuel Kofi Buah to act as Ministers for Defence and Environment, Science and Technology, respectively.
The appointments follow the tragic demise of the substantive ministers in an air crash en route to an official event in Obuasi.
This means, Mr. Ato Forson, who currently serves as Finance Minister will assume additional responsibilities as Acting Minister for Defence while Kofi Buah has been designated to oversee the Environment, Science and Technology portfolio.
This was confirmed in a statement, issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.
Part of the statement added that their additional roles take effect “until further notice,” Mr. Ofofu conveyed the President’s directive.
