Parliament has commiserated with the people of Ghana and the bereaved families following the tragic demise of senior state officials, including ministers and a Member of Parliament, in a helicopter crash.
In a statement dated 6th August 2023, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, and the entire leadership of the House expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended their condolences to all affected.
“Parliament is deeply saddened by this news, and would want to, at this time, express its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and indeed the entire Republic,” the statement read.
The House also paid tribute to the departed officials, acknowledging their service to the nation.
“May the souls of our departed colleagues who have died in the service of our Republic rest in peace,” it added.
