Two persons have been confirmed dead in an accident that occurred on the Tamale–Kintampo highway on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the accident happened at Mile Forty and involved a Kia truck loaded with groundnuts and carrying eight passengers.
The service reported that the truck veered off the road and collided with a trailer traveling in the opposite direction.
A rescue team from the GNFS in Buipe swiftly responded to the incident and managed to save six of the passengers. Unfortunately, two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
“The rescue team managed to save six people, while two others were confirmed dead at the scene,” the GNFS said.
The GNFS indicated that both the injured and the deceased were handed over to the police for further action.
