The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is highly optimistic of retaining the Akwatia seat through the ongoing by-election, Nana B has expressed.
Born Henry Nana Boakye, he stated that the party is confident of victory after today’s polls.
Speaking to Van Brown of Angel TV’s The Election Eye, Nana B said, “Everything has started smoothly so far, and I’m optimistic of a victory after voting.”
Voting is currently ongoing at 119 polling stations across the constituency, where over 50,000 eligible voters are expected to cast their votes.
Though the electoral process has been incident-free so far, one person has been arrested over early morning chaos that erupted following the removal of posters.
The election is being contested between the New Patriotic Party’s Solomon Kwame Asumadu and Lawyer Bernard Bediako Baidoo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
