The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued a driver who was trapped in a crash on the Tema–Akosombo Highway on Monday, September 15, 2025.
The incident occurred at Adelekope, few minutes to the Akuse junction in the Lower Manya Krobo municipal.
According to the GNFS, the Kpong Fire Station responded to a distress accident call at around 6:00 a.m. and dispatched a rescue team quickly.
The crew arrived at the accident scene after 30 minutes where they found a Howo Tipper Truck (GN 9147-17) that had veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
Rescuers used extrication tools to free the trapped driver, who was handed over to the National Ambulance Service and rushed to Akuse Government Hospital for treatment.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, a statement signed by the Eastern Regional PRO of GNFS, DO III Ignatius Kwamena Baidoo confirmed.
