The Central Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for six suspects who escaped from lawful custody at the Kotokuraba Police Station in the Central Region.
The suspects, who are currently on the run, reportedly broke jail around 9:00 pm on September 11, 2025. They have been identified as Kofi Asifuah, Ernest Kojo, Ekow Arhinful, Toffic Faisal, Henry Kwofie, and Innusah Addai.
Confirming the incident to Darling FM, Nyansapo Thimothy of the Central Regional Police Command said the service received information through the District Police Commander that six out of eight suspects arrested for various criminal offences had escaped.
The command explained that at about 8:40 pm that same day, the supervising inspector at the Kotokuraba Police Station sent the station orderly to buy food for the inmates after they complained of hunger. The inmates later requested water to flush the WC as the taps were not flowing.
In the process of opening the cell door to give them water, six of the eight suspects overpowered the inspector and fled.
The District Commander, upon receiving the information, led a night patrol team in search of the suspects but efforts proved futile.
The Central Regional Police Command has appealed to the public to provide any credible information that will lead to the recapture of the six individuals.
