President John Dramani Mahama has directed that all national flags be flown at half-mast in honour of the late former First Lady, Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
Mr. Mahama said this applies to public buildings, institutions, diplomatic missions, and government establishments across the country and abroad.
The president’s directive comes as part of the three-day national mourning declared after the passing of the former First Lady, whose death has brought profound sorrow across the nation.
In a presidential declaration issued from Jubilee House, President Mahama announced that the period from today, Friday, October 24, 2025, to Sunday, October 26, 2025, will be observed throughout Ghana as a period of national mourning.
“That during this period, all National Flags shall flown at half-mast at all public buildings, institutions, diplomatic missions, and government establishments across the country and abroad,” the statement emphasized.
The president eulogized Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings’ devoted life to the service of Ghana with distinction and encouraged citizens to reflect on her life of “selfless service, dedication to Ghana’s progress.”
Notwithstanding, the deceased’s “unwavering advocacy for women and children” was underscored by the Presidency.
The statement further highlighted the need for the mourning period to stand as a mark of the nation’s gratitude and respect for the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ exceptional contribution to Ghana’s development and democratic journey
