The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a significant reduction in the passport application fee, effective Thursday, November 13, 2025.
According to an official announcement, the new fee will be GH¢350, down from the previous GH¢500.
The reduction aims to make Ghanaian passports more accessible to citizens.

The Ministry highlighted several benefits of the new chip-embedded passport, including 24-hour operations, delivery under 15 days, reduced application fees, courier delivery, an e-tracking system, and ICAO compliance.
Applicants can apply online at passport.mfa.gov.gh.
The new passport will be delivered efficiently via courier without any extra charges.
This move is expected to enhance the country’s passport services, providing a more convenient experience for Ghanaians applying for or renewing their passports.
