Parliament has donated GH₵100,000 to aid the medical treatment of victims injured in the recent stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, described the gesture as “a symbol of solidarity and compassion from the House.”

He emphasized that Parliament remains committed to the welfare of citizens, especially in times of tragedy.
The donation was presented during a visit to the 37 Military Hospital, where the victims are currently receiving treatment.
The Speaker, accompanied by the parliamentary leadership, met with the injured and their families to express sympathy and support.
“This contribution is a token of Parliament’s concern for the wellbeing of our people; we stand with the victims and their families during this difficult time,” Rt Hon Bagbin stated.

The El-Wak Sports Stadium military recruitment tragedy has drawn widespread national attention, with calls for improved safety measures at public events.
