The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has congratulated Mr Paul Baffoe- Bonnie on his appointment as the 16th Chief Justice of the country.
The Association in a statement observed that Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s “decades of judicial industry, perseverance, fidelity to the letter and spirit of the law, wisdom and exceptional emotional intelligence make you the best fit for the top most judicial job of our dear nation.”
“Lord Chief Justice, your appointment as the head of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service comes at the time the independence of the Judiciary is on trial following years of perceived lost of confidence in the third arm of the state,” it added.
The assonoted that though the period of Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s tenure “is short, so much is expected of the Ghanaian people and staff of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service.”
“Indeed, so much has to be done to transform the image of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service to boost the dwindling confidence of Ghanaians in the Judiciary.
” Your tenure shall be measured, not by the length of leadership, but by the magnitude of the impact witnessed by people who consume the services of justice delivery. We know you. We have experienced you. And we are very confident in your ability to deliver the desired outcomes that meet the test of our contemporary times. During the period of your acting role, we witnessed significant developments that give us hope that the welfare, professional development, and integrity of the Service would be prioritized.
