Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has disclosed out that the prevalence of COVID-19 compelled the previous government to introduce the Agenda 111 hospital policy.
He noted that the pandemic highlighted the shortage of hospitals across the country, and this realization pushed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to take action.
In a discussion on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), Mr. Acquah explained that research during the NPP administration showed most districts lacked hospitals, making it difficult for people to access treatment elsewhere.
“Traveling from one area to the other was a big problem, especially when you’re dealing with contagious diseases,” he said on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
The MP urged the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC), government to continue the stalled projects and complete them.
“Government should understand that we cannot leave the uncompleted buildings in the bushes,” Mr. Acquah stated.
