The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a Nigerian man presumed to have murdered a woman and her daughter in Nigeria and run to hide in Ghana.
The suspect, who was wanted by the Nigerian Police, fled to Ghana to evade arrest and hid with his friends in Akyem Wenchi, a suburb of Akwatia.
In a press release, signed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), David Fianko-Okyere, the suspect, identified as Victor Benjamin Fejemirokrom, was arrested based on a viral video showing he has kidnapped and killed a lady and her daughter.
“It was being alleged that he had abducted and murdered a lady who works with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and her daughter in Abeokuta, Ogun State in Nigeria,” the release stated.
The Eastern Regional Police Command deployed an Intelligence-led operation to arrest the suspect in his hideout at Akyem Wenchi following the receipt of information.
The Police indicated that the suspect is currently in their custody, and efforts are underway to hand him over to the Nigerian authorities.
