The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has assured the public of its commitment to taking action on all reported cases of abuse following a surge in reports and videos circulating on various media platforms.
In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ministry on Sunday, November 23, 2025, MoGCSP acknowledged the public’s vigilance in bringing these matters to their attention.
“We commend and value the public’s vigilance in bringing these matters to our attention.
Indeed, we need all hands on deck, and we will continue to count on you to report incidents of abuse and support efforts to protect the vulnerable in our society,” the statement read.
The Ministry assured that victims of abuse are receiving necessary psychosocial and legal support, including placement in safe shelters when needed. Collaborations with the Police, civil society organizations, and relevant agencies are underway to fight against violence, with investigations being conducted into each case to ensure perpetrators are held accountable.
To maintain transparency and keep the public informed, MoGCSP, in collaboration with the Police, will provide periodic updates on cases under investigation.
The Ministry emphasized that the protection of the vulnerable is a collective responsibility and encouraged the public to report incidents of abuse through designated call centres.
The public has been urged to report suspected cases of abuse through the Domestic Violence Call Centre on 0800-111-222 or the Ministry’s Helpline of Hope call centre on 0800-800-800 / 0800-900-900, or by visiting the nearest police station.
The Ministry further reiterated its commitment to addressing reported cases of abuse, underscoring that “Crime has no expiration.”
